"...I have come that they may have LIFE, and that they may have it MORE ABUNDANTLY."

Details, Details

Read Ezekiel 40:1 through 42:20

God rolled out the temple blueprint for Ezekiel. All of the details were there, down to the last square cubit.

You probably won’t find many verses from today’s passage in your box of daily Scripture promises or on your verse-a-day calendar. But they are God-inspired not only for Ezekiel’s audience but also for us. So what is in those details for us?

Ezekiel prophesied of a time when Israel would be restored in its relationship with God (see Ezekiel 36:24–28). Israel’s sins—her past—would be forgotten. Its hope for the future could be found in the coming of that day, in the promise of living in God’s presence. The temple Ezekiel described would serve as a visible display of that promise.

The message for today is that we have a move-forward God. He treats our past as our past. He forgives—and forgets—our sins so that we can move forward with Him into the relationship He desires. He has a blueprint for each of us, and He has sketched out every detail of our lives, down to the last square cubit.

Prayer Suggestion: Lord, I want to live every day looking forward to the promise of eternity in Your presence.
